Good Neighbors Ethiopia (GNE) is one of the field branches of Good Neighbors International. GNE was founded in 1997 in the spirit to provide self-reliance for neighbors suffering from poverty and discrimination through sustainable development beyond aid. GNE strives to improve lives of the needy segment of society in Ethiopia, especially children’s lives, through education, health, water and sanitation, partnership, and income generation activities since its establishment in 1997. The project is funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan implemented by Good Neighbors Ethiopia. The project titled: “Build sustainable peace through promotion of livelihood & Social Cohesion in Gedeo & West Guji, Ethiopia.”

• Responsible To: Project Manager

• Term of Employment: One year with a possibility of extension

• Duty Station(s): Gedeo and West Guji Zones (in four Woredas) based at Yirgacafe

• Required Number: One (1)

• Salary scale: 25,000.00 ETB – 27, 000 ETB gross salary based on Experiences.

• Starting Date: Immediate after recruitment process is over.

The M&E Specialist is responsible for collecting data, analyzing data, interpreting data and reporting it to help organizations assess the effectiveness of their programs using set indicators. They must be able to work independently and in teams, as well as have excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills and also perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

• BA/BSC degree in Economics, Statistics, development studies and related fields with significant field experience is preferred.

• 2- 4 years’ relevant working experience in development context in monitoring and evaluation and reporting area.
