Job Description
Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) is an Ethiopian indigenous, “Civil Society Organization” established in 2014. ASDEPO is mandated to operate in all regional states of the country and is engaged indifferent thematic program areas of intervention namely: Humanitarian Response, Education, Health/HIV and AIDS/RH, Women and Youth Economic Empowerment, Gender Based Violence and Child Protection, Migration/Human Trafficking, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (Wash), NTD’s Climate Change, Agriculture, Environmental Protection and Training in Gambella, Oromia, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar, SNNPR and Somali Region.
The livestock Officer will ensure effective planning and design, and successful implementation of Nutrition Sensitive Urban Agriculture project in Addis Ababa. This will involve working with target beneficiaries , government partners and other stakeholders in Addis Ababa and with the project coordinator for the successful implementation. He/She is responsible for coordinating with key stakeholders in the Nutrition Sensitive Urban Agriculture project management and representing ASDEPO in partner engagements as essential.
The position requires a highly motivated individual with strong personal integrity and commitment to serve the community in need. Evident exposure of NGOs about Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture roles is strongly advised.
Participates and helps during beneficiary selection for nutrition sensitive urban agriculture project
Participates and coordinates procurement of agricultural inputs and poultry.
Periodically follows and monitors nutrition sensitive urban agriculture project activities
Work closely with Government partners and other relevant stakeholders.
Provides training in collaboration with government partners on nutrition sensitive urban agriculture particularly on poultry production homestead vegetable production and marketing,.
Lead the overall implementation of the project, document and report.
Takes the appropriate care for all properties of ASDEPO at all moments.

Qualification:
BSc degree in Animal Science, Plant science, Horticulture, Animal health, livestock and other related fields.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of work experience in the above field of study
Applicant must have taken nutrition sensitive agriculture course or relate trainings
Sufficient practical experience and training in Nutrition sensitive agriculture program/project activities
