Manufacturing - Supply Chain
JOB PURPOSE
The Job Purpose of the First line manager is to safely carry out general line operations from specifically Plodder to Bundler, to oversee and make sure all processes from packaging material receipt to end of production process and transfer to warehouse are safe, compliant, efficient, and delivered OTIF.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Safety - Ensure that procedures and practices adhere to the safety policy of Unilever and legislation.
Workplace Hazards - Full knowledge of the workplace and hazards within it. Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the tasks in your area.
Environment - Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact on health, safety, and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials
Start-Up/Shutdown procedures - Oversees pre-start-up machine checks to ensure that the area and equipment are clean and in a safe condition as per the SOP. Shuts down equipment and the area as per the SOP, a proper Asset care as per the standards.
Material Availability – ensure the use of appropriate Packaging materials from storage areas to preparation as per existing material flow, FIFO, WCM, and 5S standards.
Administration – makes sure effective hand-over activities and records are made accurately of events that have occurred during shift (number of batch produced /rejects with proper reason and justifications, etc.).
Quality - Monitors quality against set standards and reports any blended product and RMPM faults.
Continuous Improvement – An awareness of how to use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in pre-batching and production areas.
Problem Solving – An awareness of how to identify, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
Teamwork – Must be a good team player capable of working within a highly effective team; responsible, supportive, and able communicator.
Performance and condition of machines and process parameters on soap line.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
Minimum Technical College certificate of level III/IV with at least 3 years of work experience in a related scope.
Good knowledge of RM/PM/GMP/MMP, line profiles, process parameters, and quality parameters of production operations.
Practical understanding of the process, parameters, procedures, safety and quality standards
Detailed Knowledge of the machine components as well as operation/troubleshooting and maintenance of the various machines in contributing to the finished goods process
Very good understanding and proven track record of managing MUVs and Material wastes.
Experience with GMP and standard operating procedures.
Full understanding of factory safety standards (process safety, hazards identification, MSDS)
Manex/TPM/UMS detailed knowledge will be a plus.
