BACKGROUND

 Kurmuk Gold Mine Plc (KGM) is a subsidiary of Allied Gold Corp which is a global company. The parent company has different mine projects in Mali, cote d’Ivoire as well as Ethiopia. KGM is the owner of Ethiopian project with a Large-Scale Gold Mining License and three contiguous Exploration Licenses. All licenses are located in western Ethiopia approximately 750 km from Addis Ababa, or about 90 km north-west of Assosa town in Benishangul Gumuze Regional State. KGM is using local and expat professionals, and foreign/local consultants to carry out all the exploration and mining activities. The company currently is looking for professionals in many disciplines to execute its operations diligently and to the international standard. KGM would like to invite competent, energetic, and qualified applicants for the following vacancy announcement

Key aims and objectives: - 

•  Manage and secure the company’s network infrastructure based on organizational needs. 

• Demonstrate expertise in data center technologies, network security, and troubleshooting. 

•  Administer Firewalls, IDS, IPS, VPN, Remote Access, Enterprise Malware Solutions, Security Logging, Vulnerability Management, Security Incident Response, and Penetration Testing. 

•  Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VOIP systems, and VSAT. 

• Utilize strong L2 and L3 network management skills. 

• Familiarity with Cloud services such as AWS and Microsoft Azure is preferred. 

Responsibilities and duties: - 

• Ensure timely resolution of helpdesk tickets within SLA requirements. 

• Use ticketing systems for incident, change, and problem management. 

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud services and networking equipment. 

•  Resolve escalated Tier 2-3 issues promptly. 

• Conduct proactive maintenance and participate in critical infrastructure response protocols. 

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network responsibilities. 

• Support cybersecurity initiatives as directed by IT leadership. 

• Assist with Tier-1 support during staffing gaps. 

• Research and propose best practices to enhance network security and efficiency.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree (Software/Computer Technology Field Preferred) or equivalent work experience 

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience administering cloud or infrastructure services across a large, diverse, server environment 

•  Technical proficiency including systems experience, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and issue management in a multi-platform environment 

•  In depth knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, WINS, load balancing and firewall technologies 

•  In depth knowledge of VMWare, HP, IBM, Cisco, Dell and other major vendor HW/SW offerings 

•  In Depth knowledge of system and network security best practices including governance

Required Network Skills 

•  Installation of Next-Gen Firewalls, switches, and access points 

• Cisco Wireless Controllers (mesh and lightweight) 

•  Routing Protocols (BGP, EIGRP) 

•  VPN technologies (DMVPN, AnyConnect VPN, Site-to-Site VPN) 

•  Global MPLS deployments 

• Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches 

•  Cisco Routers and Cloud Routers 

• Next-Gen Firewalls (Fortinet, Sophos)

•  Vulnerability Scanning 

• VSAT fundamentals (BUC, LNB, Modem, Combiner/Splitter, Feedhorn, Reflectors, Polarization) 

•  QoS concepts for high-latency links 

• IP/Microwave Network deployment and optimization (Ethernet, P2P, Multipoint2
