Job Description
CareEpilepsy Ethiopia is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of people with epilepsy. We address the full spectrum of issues including medical treatment, stigma, social barriers, wellbeing, research, and strengthening the role of health providers to enable effective and quality epilepsy services. We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Finance Assistant to manage and coordinate all monetary activities within our organization. Your role will involve tracking the company’s income, preparing financial reports, and assisting in controlling spending.
Daily Transactions: Support day-to-day transactions, including expenses and payroll.
Financial Data Management: Gather and organize financial data.
Report Analysis: Analyze financial reports to identify discrepancies and mistakes.
Data Entry: Record financial reports in the company’s computer system.
Spreadsheet Management: Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions.
Balance Sheets: Prepare balance sheets.
Bank Reconciliation: Track and reconcile bank statements.
Tax Payments: Process tax payments.
Payroll Support: Support monthly payroll and maintain organized records.
Accounts Management: Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Invoicing: Create, send, and follow up on invoices with clients, suppliers, and partners.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for financial activities.
Audit Participation: Participate in quarterly reports and annual audits.
Data Collection: Collect and review data for reports.
Reporting to: Administration and Finance Manager
SALARY: Based on experience as a junior position.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Working Days: Full-time, Monday – Friday
Working Hours: 2:30 AM – 11:30 PM (one-hour lunch break)
Overtime: Expected to do overtime when required
Contract: 12 months, with a probation period of 60 days and a possibility of extension
Notice Period: One month in writing from both sides

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Knowledge, skills and attributes:
Educational Background: BSc degree in Finance or Accounting.
Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
Software Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of accounting software (Peachtree) and advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email; ability to type in Amharic and English.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot numerical errors.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners.
Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
