Job Description
DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs: Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.
Provide programming recommendations in close coordination with the program and Monitoring Evaluation and Learning MEL teams to improve the program's approach to GESI integration in projects incorporating GESI analysis in activity design, integrating GESI during implementation and MEL.
Promote, design, implement, and manage gender equality, youth participation, and social inclusion activities across program components.
Work closely with the immediate supervisor to adopt gender and disability mainstreaming approaches into all components and ensure gender
Lead measures to ensure that program efforts do not put any individual or marginalized group at increased risk of harm.
Organize and manage dialogue and interaction workshops on gender and social inclusion agendas and issues related to the new constitution;
Implement and mainstream gender and social inclusion programs and initiatives together with the other thematic areas of the project;
Provide inputs to gender and inclusive annual work plan, monitor actions, and draft
Design and implement capacity development initiatives concerning gender and social inclusion;
Builds strong relationships with all partners, focuses on impact and results, and responds positively to critical feedback;
Ensure target groups have meaningful participation in project activities. Ensure the collection of desegregated data for project reporting;
Qualification BA/MA
BA/MA in Gender/ Psychology/ Social Work/ Sociology
Minimum 3 years
Additional Skill
Fluent in English languages, Writing, and speaking skills in additional local languages are a plus ;
Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;
Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing and working with communities
Ability to conduct training and track progress;
Good report writing, use of technology application skills ;
Advanced PC skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel as well as other financial software packages.
