Job Description
Gender and Inclusive officer for Addis Ababa Coordination Office, Zonal Education in Emergency Coordinators (for North Wollo & north Shoa), Wereda Education in Emergency Supervisors (for North Wollo & north Shoa), Community Mobilizer (for North Wollo & north Shoa) Education in Emergency Program Manager Addis Ababa Coordination Office,and EiE PMEL officer Addis Ababa Coordination Office.
DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration. DEC would like to recruit for the following positions:
Provide technical guidance; ensure that gender perspectives are meaningfully incorporated into program design, implementation, and monitoring. Represent DEC on gender and inclusion-related concerns in the program; Advocate for gender equality and inclusion within program implementation.
Identify targets, collect data, Report, conduct campaign, educate and mobilize community; meet stakeholders, and support EiE supervisors
Facilitate and monitor the implementation of planned activities and community-level engagements.
Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops, and seminars.
Identify local-level partners, and support and facilitate the partnership in the implementation of planned activities.
Mobilize and facilitate active participation of communities to participate in planning, monitoring implementation, and evaluation of community development initiatives.
Build the capacity of People with Disabilities, families, and community to collectively engage local leaders on identified issues.
Support development of integrated monitoring plan in assigned area with area stakeholders
Support reflection meetings at the local level to assess progress.
Perform extra responsibilities given by immediate supervisor.
Additional Skill
Confident in English languages, Writing, and speaking skills in additional local languages are a plus ;
Good communication skills in teamwork team mobilizations and partnership management;
Experience in facilitating assessments, best practice capturing and working with communities
Ability to conduct training and track progress;
Good report writing, use of technology application skills ;
