POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of East Africa National Distribution Share Company (END S.C.) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management to the company, ensuring the achievement of its business objectives, and aligning with the company’s strategic pillars. The CEO will oversee the distribution, retail, and wholesale trade of cement and construction materials, investments in the cement industry and infrastructure sector, and other related activities. The CEO will also play a key role in driving growth, enhancing production capacity, fostering synergies with sister companies, and ensuring sustainable development.
Strategic Leadership and Business Growth:
Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan to grow gross sales and expand market share in the cement and construction materials sector.
Identify and pursue investment opportunities within the cement industry and related infrastructure sectors.
Lead the expansion of wholesale and retail trade operations in cement, construction materials, and fuel products.
Foster innovation and create new distribution capacities aligned with market demands.
Operational Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources, including logistics, transportation, and installation services.
Ensure the quality and timely delivery of services related to cement, construction materials, fuel stations, biogas plants, and tire supply.
Optimize the supply chain and logistics operations for cement, construction materials, and fuels to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Financial Management:
Manage the company’s financial performance, ensuring profitability, liquidity, and long-term financial stability.
Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize revenue streams and reduce costs.
Monitor key financial metrics, including gross sales growth, profitability, and return on investment (ROI).
Organizational Development and Culture:
Develop and nurture an industry culture that promotes innovation, excellence, and collaboration within the company.
Ensure institutional ownership by fostering a sense of belonging and commitment among employees.
Implement best practices in corporate governance, risk management, and compliance.
Sustainability and Social Responsibility:
Lead initiatives to implement sustainable development levers across the company’s operations.
Promote environmentally responsible practices in production, distribution, and logistics.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure the company’s activities align with broader societal and environmental goals.
Synergy with sister companies.
Foster collaboration and synergy with sister companies within the holding group to leverage shared resources, knowledge, and capabilities.
Identify and implement joint projects and initiatives that benefit both END S.C. and its sister companies.
Enhance operational efficiency and market competitiveness through strategic partnerships within the group.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, regulators, customers, and partners.
Represent the company in industry forums, trade associations, and public engagements.
Ensure transparent communication with shareholders and the board of directors regarding the company’s performance and strategic direction.
PERSONS SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 8 MA and 10 BA years of experience of which 6 years should be at management level in similar sector.
Proven track record of leading and managing large-scale distribution, logistics, or wholesale operations.
Experience in strategic planning, financial management, and business development.
Experience:

In-depth knowledge of the cement and construction materials industry, including market trends, challenges, and opportunities.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve organizational goals.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovation and growth.
Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment and make decisions under pressure.
