Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer (COO): 

• Plans, implements and manages all the accounting and finance activities of the company. 

• Performs financial management duties, including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing trends and assessing the financial health of the company. 

• Prepares and implements financial strategies, policies and procedures and financial control frameworks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees the financial activities of the company.

• Forecasts, develops, and manages annual budgets that are adequate for the company’s needs. 

• Develops strategies that can work to minimize financial risks.

• Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheet, shareholder reports, tax returns, and government agency reports.

• Ensures that financial and accounting policies and procedures are in accordance with regulations and standards and comply with risk management and internal control.

• Provides expert financial management support and maintains accurate and complete financial records.

• Produces financial reports related to budgets, accounts payables, accounts receivables, expenses, etc. and develops long term business plan based on the reports.

• Collects, interprets and reviews financial information and predicts future financial trends. 

• Reports to top management and provides advice on how the company’s business decisions have impacted the business.

• Performs all aspects of financial management functions ranging from accounting to broad investment operations.

• Ensures that cash flow is appropriate for the smooth running of the company’s operations. 

• Provides leadership directions and management of the finance and accounting teams. 

• Oversees the operation of the accounting and finance department, sets goals and objectives and designs a framework for accomplishing the tasks.

• Analyzes costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.

• Supervises the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assists with cash flow forecasting.

• Ensures the effective running of the day-to-day financial operations in line with financial policies and procedures.

• Reviews, updates and maintains the company’s finance manual as necessary.

• Liaise the company with external auditors before, during and after financial statement audit.

• Ensure necessary adjustment is made after external auditors comment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by the COO.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

• MA/BA in Accounting, or Accounting and Finance and 8 / 10 years relevant experience, out of which 5 years of middle level managerial experience in accounting and finance in business organizations.

Skills: 

•  Strong in technical, operational, and people management. Good written and verbal communication. Creativity in problem solving and analytical skill. Team player with positive attitude and flexibility.
