The National Information Platform for Nutrition (NIPN) , commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-funded by the European Union (EU), and Implemented by GIZ, aims to improve the policy and programming in nutrition through evidence in the form of policy question formulation cycles, capacity building, improved nutrition data through Dashboards and Data -repositories and supporting a multi-sectoral coordination for improved nutrition sensitive and specific programming in all sectors. NIPN works closely with Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Education, Water and Energy, and Trade, etc. The objective of NIPN is to strengthen evidence-based nutrition governance in Ethiopia.
The Intern is expected to:
Assist in preparing information for the component; create and maintain PowerPoint presentations whenever needed
Take notes during meetings; and prepare memos when needed
Run general office duties
Manage and input information, data, and records on DMS
Set up, organize, and maintain conference rooms, training rooms, and meeting rooms; update superior calendars
Attend company functions and networking events
Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks
Support the project team in their work with external service providers
Support in event organization (workshops and (online) meetings) esp. providing support during and follow-ups then after
Support the team in terms of facilitation in finance and administrative issues
Support gender mainstreaming activities
Facilitate NIPN related activities at the GIZ office
Providing continuous support to the technical team and the management both in GIZ and partner organizations EPH and IFPRI
Job Requirements
Other knowledge, additional competencies
Knowledge in the area of Nutrition, data analysis, preparing nutrition article.
Experience in research
Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office
Has an eye for detail;
High degree of initiative, efficiency, integrity and accountability;
High interest in self-development, intellectual curiosity and has the capacity of thinking outside the box;
Ability to work alone as well as in a team.
