Job Description
The Sales Representative - Export is responsible for driving the sales of products to international markets, ensuring that sales targets are met and customer relationships are effectively managed. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing customer accounts, and coordinating with the Export Sales Manager to align sales activities with the company’s export strategy. The Sales Representative plays a key role in expanding the company’s global footprint and ensuring the satisfaction of international clients.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
Implement sales strategies to achieve export sales targets and revenue goals.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in international markets.
Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up on leads and closure of sales.
Work closely with the Export Sales Manager to align sales efforts with the company’s export strategy.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with international customers, distributors, and partners.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers in the assigned region, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Conduct regular customer visits (virtual or in-person) to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with customers to secure profitable sales.
Market Research and Development:
Conduct market research to identify potential markets and customers, understanding their needs, preferences, and purchasing behaviors.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions in the assigned territory.
Provide insights and recommendations to the Export Sales Manager for market entry strategies, product adaptations, and pricing strategies.
Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns and promotional activities aimed at international markets.
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and submit regular sales reports to the Export Sales Manager, detailing sales performance, customer feedback, and market insights.
Track sales performance against targets and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective action as needed.
Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the export markets.
Order Management and Coordination:
Process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of products.
Coordinate with internal departments, including logistics, finance, and production, to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
Monitor the status of orders, resolving any issues related to product availability, shipping, or documentation.
Ensure that all export documentation (e.g., invoices, certificates of origin, customs declarations) is completed accurately and complies with regulatory requirements.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that all export sales activities comply with international trade regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with international sales, such as currency fluctuations, trade barriers, and geopolitical issues.
Stay informed about changes in export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements that may impact the business.
Customer Service and Support:
Provide exceptional customer service to international clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they have a positive experience with the company.
Handle customer complaints and issues effectively, working to resolve them in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Offer post-sales support to customers, including follow-ups, product training, and after-sales service.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with the Export Sales Manager and other team members to share insights, best practices, and strategies for success in international markets.
Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Contribute to a positive team environment, supporting colleagues and helping to achieve team goals.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Sales Management will be an added
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably within the cement, construction materials, or related industries.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing sales teams at a depot or regional level.
Experience in depot or branch management is highly desirable.
