The Head of IT fulfils a critical role in aligning technology initiatives with business goals, driving innovation, and ensuring the overall effectiveness and security of our IT operations.  The person is responsible for creating IT policy and strategy, implementing infrastructure and leveraging technology to help the company achieve its goals. The responsible person will manage and oversee all IT operations across multiple subsidiary companies.  This strategic role is essential for ensuring the effective deployment and management of IT systems, infrastructure, and services that support the joint venture’s business objectives. The successful candidate will drive technological innovation, ensure system reliability and security, and align IT strategies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned to the business overall objectives and ensure effective implementation.

• Defining the appropriate IT enterprise and architecture for the company

• Directing the sourcing and implementation of new software and hardware

• Manage the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems

• Formulating and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans

• Ensure the availability, security, and reliability of IT services through proactive monitoring and mitigation of issues.

• Identifying future challenges in the IT landscape and developing mitigation strategies

• Overseeing departmental budgeting and forecasting within the organisation

• Directing IT staff recruitment and directly supervising employees

• Identifying security vulnerabilities and eliminating them with strategic solutions 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.

• Lead strategic IT project implementation and provide technical expertise and support for system integration and application development.

• Identifying and recommending new technology solutions

• Ensure compliance with relevant IT regulations, standards, and legal requirements.

• Keep abreast of industry regulations and advise the organization on necessary actions.

• Proactive monitoring and reporting 

Required Competencies and Abilities:

• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.

• In-depth knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, security, and emerging technologies.

• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.

• Experience with IT budgeting and financial management, as well as managing large and complex IT projects.

• Familiarity with relevant IT compliance and regulatory standards.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proven experience in managing IT functions across multiple companies or joint ventures, including IT infrastructure, systems, and services.

• Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and security protocols.

• Well-experienced in networking, including designing, configuring, and managing complex network environments.

• Software development expertise, with experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining software solutions.

• Exposure to Oracle NetSuite, including configuration, management, and optimization of NetSuite ERP systems.

• Digital security expertise, with a deep understanding of cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations.

• Experience working in multi-company environments, including coordinating IT initiatives and support across diverse business units.

• Advanced analytical skills to assess IT performance, resolve technical issues, and implement effective solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate IT strategies, influence stakeholders, and present technical information effectively.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple IT projects simultaneously, including setting priorities, managing resources, and meeting deadlines.

• Experience in managing IT budgets and ensuring financial efficiency.

• Ability to adapt IT strategies and solutions to changing business needs and technological advancements.

• Strong problem-solving abilities to address IT challenges and implement effective solutions.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

*Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fields with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience, including a minimum of five (5) years in a managerial role within a multi-company or joint venture environment.

*Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fields with at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience, including a minimum of six (6) years in a managerial role within a multi-company or joint venture environment.
