Job Description
The Regional Sales Manager at East Africa National Distribution S.C is responsible for overseeing and driving sales activities within a specific geographic region. The role involves developing and executing regional sales strategies, managing a team of sales professionals, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with the Domestic Sales Manager to align regional sales efforts with the company’s overall sales objectives, ensuring the growth of market share and customer satisfaction within the region.
Regional Sales Strategy Development and Execution:
Develop and implement regional sales strategies that align with the company’s national sales objectives.
Analyze regional market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to inform sales strategies.
Work with the Domestic Sales Manager to set regional sales targets and ensure they are met.
Sales Target Achievement:
Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets for the regional sales team.
Develop action plans to address any shortfalls in regional sales performance.
Provide regular sales forecasts and performance reports to the Domestic Sales Manager.
Market Expansion and Customer Relationship Management:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region to expand the company’s customer base and increase market share.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners within the region.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing regional customer needs and resolving any issues promptly.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, motivate, and manage the regional sales team, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
Foster a culture of high performance, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the regional sales team.
Sales Operations and Process Improvement:
Oversee the daily operations of the regional sales function, ensuring efficient and effective sales processes.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve sales performance within the region.
Leverage sales management software and tools to enhance regional sales operations and reporting.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
Develop and manage the regional sales budget, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial objectives.
Monitor regional sales expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising sales effectiveness.
Provide regular financial reports to the Domestic Sales Manager, highlighting performance against budget.
Marketing and Promotional Activities:
Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute regional promotional campaigns that drive sales.
Ensure that the regional sales team is equipped with the necessary marketing materials and product information.
Monitor the effectiveness of regional promotional activities, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize impact.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze regional sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present regular sales reports, providing insights and recommendations to the Domestic Sales Manager.
Use data to drive decision-making and optimize regional sales strategies.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that all sales activities within the region comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges in the regional market.
Monitor and manage risks related to regional sales operations, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.
Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility:
Integrate sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) into regional sales strategies, promoting ethical business practices.
Lead initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental impact through sustainable sales operations within the region.
Engage with regional stakeholders to ensure that sales activities contribute positively to the community and align with broader societal goals.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Sales Management will be an added advantage.
Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of experience in sales management, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets in a regional market.
Proven experience in managing sales teams and driving sales performance in the cement, construction materials, or related industries.
