The Opportunity 

The post holder is responsible for delivering results in line with pre-agreed program plans and objectives, overseeing the implementation of the child protection policy in the PA, and contributing towards achieving the country program goal of improved protection mechanisms and community practices against harmful traditional practices and violence against children. Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC).

  • Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

  • Ensure that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

Job Requirements

Educational Background

  • BA degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology Child Development, and other related fields.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of humanitarian aid experience applied in emergency/recovery response operations preferably in the area of child protection and youth program Activity

  • excellent knowledge of Child Protection and SGBV minimum standards and basic principles; Good knowledge of SGBV and Child Protection case management

  • Excellent knowledge of basic child protection and youth principles and child & adult development and learning

  • Ability to deliver quality programs at a desirable time and work under stressful conditions.

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently.

  • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.

  • Gender-sensitive.

  • Proposal and report writing skills.

  • Analytical and strategic thinking
