Job Description

The Store Supervisor at East Africa National Distribution SC. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring efficient management of inventory, and maintaining optimal stock levels. This role involves supervising store staff, coordinating inventory activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The Store Supervisor works closely with the Warehouse Manager to support overall warehouse operations and contribute to the effective management of the store.

Duties and Responsibilites:

  1. Inventory Management:

    1. Oversee daily inventory operations, including receiving, stocking, and organizing products.

    2. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to manage inventory replenishment.

    3. Conduct regular inventory checks and audits to ensure accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies.

  2. Staff Supervision:

    1. Supervise and manage store clerks (keeper) and inventory assistants, ensuring that tasks are performed efficiently and accurately.

    2. Provide training and guidance to store staff on operational procedures, safety practices, and customer service standards.

    3. Conduct performance evaluations and address any issues related to staff performance or behavior.

  3. Store Operations:

    1. Ensure the store is organized and maintained according to company standards, including cleanliness and safety.

    2. Implement and enforce store policies and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

    3. Manage store operations during shifts, including handling customer inquiries and resolving issues.

  4. Order Fulfillment:

    1. Oversee order picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

    2. Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to address any issues related to order processing or inventory management.

  5. Compliance and Safety:

    1. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the store environment.

    2. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards or safety concerns promptly.

    3. Maintain accurate records related to inventory, store operations, and safety compliance.

  6. Reporting and Documentation:

    1. Prepare and submit regular reports on inventory levels, store operations, and staff performance to the Warehouse Manager.

    2. Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory transactions, stock levels, and operational activities.

  7. Process Improvement:

    1. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance store efficiency and effectiveness.

Suggest and implement strategies to optimize inventory management and reduce operational costs.

Job Requirements

. Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certification in transportation or logistics is an advantage.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse or store management role.

  • Proven experience in supervising staff and managing inventory operations.

  • Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse procedures.

  • Experience in FMCG Sector is favorable
