Job Description

Quantitative Data Collectors 

Responsibilities:

  • Thorough Understanding: Demonstrate a deep understanding of survey instruments, data collection protocols, and ethical guidelines.

  • Active Participation: Actively contribute to the review and improvement of data collection tools.

  • Equipment Preparation: Ensure possession of all necessary equipment, including tablets, questionnaires, power banks, chargers, data collection tools, and identification badges, and support letters.

  • Pilot Testing and Debriefing: Participate in Mock interview, pilot testing of questionnaires outside the study areas, and attend post-pilot debriefing sessions.

  • Performance Assessment: Successfully pass all performance assessments before field deployment. 

  • Data Collection: Conduct surveys, obtain informed consent, and ensure accurate and timely data collection.

  • Data Quality: Maintain data quality through accurate recording, addressing rejected data, and conducting re-interviews as needed.

Data Collectors Supervisor 

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a team of enumerators, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Workload Distribution: Ensure fair and efficient workload allocation among team members based on skills and capacity.

  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Debriefing Sessions: Facilitate daily debriefing sessions to discuss challenges, successes, and best practices.

  • Data Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality control measures through spot checks, back checks, and call backs.

  • Feedback and Correction: Provide timely and actionable feedback to enumerators for continuous improvement in data collection accuracy.

  • Data Reporting: Manage data synchronization and generate daily reports summarizing team progress and data quality.

  • Training and Development: Understand the project and deliver comprehensive training on data collection protocols, tools, and best practices.

  • Ongoing Support: Offer guidance and support to enumerators throughout the data collection process.

  • Logistics Management: Ensure proper use and accountability of field materials assigned to the team.

  • Interview Assignment: Assign daily interview quotas to enumerators in accordance with project requirements.

  • Progress Tracking: Monitor daily progress of the team and individual enumerators, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

  • Administrative Support: Handle payments to enumerators and complete other administrative tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

Quantitative Data Collectors 

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Medicine, Nutrition, Food Science, or other health related fields.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in data collection.

  • Fluency: Fluency in Amharic and one of the following languages: Afaan Oromo, Sidamo-Afoo, Af Somali, Wolayita, Gamoo, Guragigna, and so on. 

Data Collectors Supervisor 

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in any health-related fields.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data collection supervision.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Fluency: Fluency in Amharic and one of the following languages: Afaan Oromo, Sidamo-Afoo, Af Somali, Wolayita, Gamoo, Guragigna, and so on.
