Job Summary: We are looking for a responsible and experienced Heavy Vehicle Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be tasked with transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all relevant traffic laws and company policies. This role demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Safely operate heavy vehicles, including trucks and trailers, to transport goods to and from designated locations.

·         Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or required repairs promptly.

·         Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that cargo is properly secured and distributed to prevent shifting during transit.

·         Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic regulations and safety standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and cargo information.

·         Plan the most efficient routes to ensure timely delivery, considering factors such as traffic, weather conditions, and road restrictions.

·         Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including obtaining signatures and providing receipts as necessary.

·         Ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road by driving responsibly, avoiding risky behaviors, and taking precautions in hazardous conditions.

·         Maintain a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, safety standards, and local and national road regulations.

 Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience driving heavy vehicles, including trucks, trailers, or similar.

• License: Valid and renewed heavy vehicle driver's license with a good driving record.

Additional Requirements:

·         Good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and strong problem-solving abilities.

·         Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including loading and unloading cargo, and working long hours on the road.

·         Knowledge of Djibouti routes.

·         Certification in defensive driving or other relevant training.

·         Experience in long-haul or cross-border driving.

Location: Head Office, Addis Ababa (with flexibility to move from Addis Abeba to work in Bahir Dar)
