We are recruiting for a full-time Weighbridge Operations manager to work at our project center in South Sudan Nimule. This role plays an integral part of the smooth operation of our weighbridge establishment. This role ensures that the loaded vehicles are weighed in and out of site, overall management of the weighbridge activities to include planning / scheduling of key operations / activities, implementation of plans, Safety procedures are maintained, quality checks are carried out and help ensure the high standards of Service in our site are maintained at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

• He/She should be a team player which have wide experience with Public or Private Sector and administration/management of a technical facility/project in a similar capaciy

• He/ She will oversee the management of operations for one or several of weighbridges under our company.

• The operations manager will work closely with the Engineers representative to formulate ways of network monitoring and shall be required to be in the field frequently with company based and or/in collaboration with the client to monitor the network and static weighbridges operations to review operations and propose new approaches of addressing axle load control challenges.

• He/She will oversee installed physical facilities and management of operations of the weighbridge facility.

•  Ensure implementation of operational/ activity schedules

• Develop a Quality Assurance Program of the Weighbridge in liaison with the company’s top management.

•  Ensure that the Contract with transportation companies are managed in line with the Terms of Reference (TOR) and the general conditions of the contract

• Management and Coordination of the weighbridge Staff assigned to the full operations of weighing 

• She/he will be required to have close coordination with the Police and in liaison with the local administration and client companies

• Ensure that the targets and thresholds for weighing compliance are achieved

•  Preside all site meetings as shall be convened by the company

• Assist the company to formulate performance improvement strategies for further discussions and implementation as agreed with the management.

Job Requirements

• The staff proposed for the position of Operation Manager shall possess a University Degree (BSc Mechanical / Electrical / Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field) from a recognized University with a total of not less than 5 service years.

• She / he shall demonstrate competence and a minimum of (2) years proven experience in Weighbridge Operations Management and (1) years’ experience in activities related to weights and measurements and compliance of which shall include experience in managing Weigh – In – Motion (WIM) stations

• The candidate should be of high integrity be well versed with the EAC laws on axle load systems, especially, the Penal Code, the Civil Procedure Code, Company Law, Public Roads Act and. 

• She/he should be computer literate and have excellent communication skills. 

• At all times, she/he shall comply with the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

• Wide experience of at least (3) years in Logistics and Transport Sector Management

• He should demonstrate experience in world best practice in operations guided by continuous improvement methods. Previous experience in KAIZEN, QMS will be added advantage.

• Previous hands-on interaction with a Database Management Systems and ERP will be a key requirement.

• Knowledge of Weigh in Motion Systems (WIMS) and systems automation will be an added advantage.

• Trained on Weighbridge Operations Procedures

• At least Five (5) years’ experience in Axle Load Enforcement

• Trained on Weighbridge Software modules – weighing and management modules

• Good training on computer applications

• Trained on safety at the workplace

• Trained on Ethics, Integrity and Anti – Corruption

• Have previous experience in an ISO 9001 or ISO 17020 environment.
