sequa gGmbH is a globally operating non-profit development organisation. Since 1991, sequa has carried out programmes and projects of international cooperation in close collaboration with the German private sector. sequa offers know-how and long-term experience in capacity development for chambers and associations (BMOs), vocational education and training, private sector development and trade promotion. The organisation is based in Bonn, Germany. sequa employs more than 100 persons (2023) and reported a turnover of EUR 60 m in 2023.
The Project
Within the GIZ Program Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition", sequa implements the "SME Support Scheme targeting growth-orientated SMEs" project in Ethiopia. With this, sequa aims to facilitate business growth and job creation of Ethiopian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by increasing their competitiveness and productivity so that their products and services will satisfy the demand on local and international markets. A specific focus will be provided on women-owned SMEs, job creation, and employability training for women.
Benefiting companies receive flexible and demand-oriented funding (management consulting, technical training, financial competence/business plan development, qualification, applied research activities, etc.). A particular focus will be on advisory services to improve access to finance. The grant scheme will contribute to SMEs' change management and business growth.
The main objective of the assignment is to develop and articulate entrepreneur’s profile and story by crafting a narrative that highlights the journey of an entrepreneur’s early life, education, and initial career steps, overcoming challenges and significant accomplishments. The assignment needs the visiting and gathering of information from 10 selected entrepreneurs in different part of Ethiopia. The profile should encompass blend of factual information, personal life and philanthropy.
The entrepreneur profile writer should prepare persona template and develop fact sheet to prepare informative and concise profile.
Your Tasks / Responsibilities
Questionnaire development- Prepare a list of thoughtful, structured questions designed to elicit detailed and factual data of the entrepreneur.
Company visits and gather information- Visit at least 10 selected successful entrepreneurs and gather the required information with the questionnaire prepared.
Develop an entrepreneur profile including fact sheet:
Incorporate details about the entrepreneur’s early life, education, and initial career steps.
Highlight significant accomplishments such as awards, recognitions, successful products or services, and contributions to the industry.
Challenges and Failures: Include information on any challenges faced, how they were overcome, and lessons learned from failures.
Leadership Style: highlights the insights into their leadership style, management philosophy, and team-building strategies.
Personal Life and Philanthropy: Brief mention of family, hobbies and key philanthropic activities or social initiatives.
Quotes and Testimonials: incorporate quotes from the entrepreneur and testimonials from peers, employees, or industry experts.
Develop appropriate persona template with the required information.

Your Qualification / Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in fields of Psychology, English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related discipline.
Excellent Writing Ability: Strong command of language, grammar, and style.
Storytelling Skills: The ability to craft compelling narratives that capture the subject’s personality, achievements, and significance.
Strong knowledge in developing fact sheet and persona profile.
Your Working Experience
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in developing personal profile, fact sheet and content writing. Experience in writing biographies, interviews, or case studies is particularly relevant.
Portfolio of Work: A strong portfolio showcasing published profiles or similar work.
