Job Description
The National Sales Manager at East Africa National Distribution SC.is responsible for driving the company’s sales performance within the domestic market. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies that align with the company’s goals, managing regional sales teams, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. The Domestic Sales Manager will work closely with the Sales Manager to identify growth opportunities, expand market share, and foster strong relationships with customers across the country.
Sales Strategy Development and Execution:
Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve the company’s sales objectives in the domestic market.
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to inform sales strategies.
Collaborate with the Sales Manager to align sales strategies with the overall business objectives of END S.C.
Sales Target Achievement:
Set, monitor, and achieve sales targets for regional sales teams and sales representatives.
Develop action plans to address any shortfalls in sales performance, ensuring targets are met consistently.
Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to the Sales Manager.
Market Expansion and Customer Relationship Management:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s customer base and increase market share.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners across the country.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing customer needs and resolving any issues promptly.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, motivate, and manage the regional sales teams, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
Foster a culture of high performance, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
Sales Operations and Process Improvement:
Oversee the daily operations of the domestic sales function, ensuring efficient and effective sales processes.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve sales performance.
Leverage sales management software and tools to enhance sales operations and reporting.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
Develop and manage the domestic sales budget, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial objectives.
Monitor sales expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising sales effectiveness.
Provide regular financial reports to the Sales Manager, highlighting performance against budget.
Marketing and Promotional Activities:
Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns that drive sales in the domestic market.
Ensure that sales teams are equipped with the necessary marketing materials and product information.
Monitor the effectiveness of promotional activities, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize impact.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present regular sales reports, providing insights and recommendations to the Sales Manager.
Use data to drive decision-making and optimize sales strategies.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that all sales activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges in the domestic market.
Monitor and manage risks related to sales operations, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.
Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility:
Integrate sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) into sales strategies, promoting ethical business practices.
Lead initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental impact through sustainable sales operations.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure that sales activities contribute positively to the community and align with broader societal goals.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in Sales Management will be an added advantage.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets in the domestic market.
Proven experience in managing large sales teams and complex sales operations, preferably in the cement, construction materials, or related industries.
