The Seed Manager is in charge of the development and the management of Boortmalt supply chain seed supply.
Define annually the seed supply strategy of the company
Identify the seeds needs in terms of quantities and varieties in close collaboration with the supply chain manager and Boortmalt’s sourcing manager
Identify the sources of seeds.
Define the budget of the seed activity.
Manage the seed supply
Manage the relationships with breeders so do with basic and possibly pre-basic seeds suppliers (local and foreign): negotiation, representation contract, relevant declarations, etc.
Manage the relationships with the local seed producers for both spot purchase and contracted production: negotiation, contract management, etc.
Follow, agronomically, the seed production in order to guarantee of the quality and the quantity of the seed supply.
Manage all marketing and commercial work needed in order to guarantee the distribution of all the seeds produced and/or purchased in close collaboration with the supply chain department: field day organization, documentation, etc.
Manage all the post production processes: seed cleaning, certification and logistics until the delivery to farmers’ organizations.
Manage the administrative work liked to the seed multiplication including all legal and administrative documents required.
Closely follow all the steps in terms of deadlines in order to guarantee the delivery on time of the seeds.
Financial and administrative follow up of the seed activity.
Collection of the financial and administrative documents (contracts, payment requests, etc.)
Prepare the relevant letters and make them signed by the head of agriculture.
Qualifaictions:
Bachelor Degree in Agriculture (Agronomy, seeds science, plant science, crop protection, crop science and other relative professional.
-Six years relevant experience in related Industry.
