Job Description

The GIS Analyst – Route Design is responsible for developing and optimizing delivery routes for the beverage business to ensure efficient distribution and customer satisfaction. The role focuses on using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools to design, analyze, and refine delivery routes, minimizing costs, improving delivery times, and enhancing the overall distribution process. The GIS Analyst will collaborate with the Route to Market and Field Sales, teams to ensure that route designs align with the company’s business objectives and market needs.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Route Design and Optimization:

  • Analyze and create efficient delivery routes for primary (KBSC warehouse to distributors) and secondary (door-to-door) distribution using GIS tools.

  • Continuously assess and optimize routes to minimize fuel consumption, reduce delivery times, and improve cost efficiency.

  • Develop customized route plans based on geographic factors, traffic patterns, road conditions, and customer locations.

  • Design Distributor Demarcation and Truck Demarcation and its restructuring.

2. Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Collect and maintain up-to-date geographic data on retail outlets, Official KBSC Distributor warehouses, customers, and distribution points.

  • Use spatial data to assess delivery performance and identify inefficiencies in current routes.

  • Analyze traffic, delivery frequency, and product demand data to refine route planning.

3. Collaboration with Field Sales Teams:

  • Work closely with the field sales teams to implement route changes and ensure smooth execution of delivery plans.

  • Provide GIS-based recommendations for improving fleet utilization, such as adjusting delivery schedules and vehicle allocation.

  • Coordinate with the sales team to align route planning with market expansion, ensuring optimal customer coverage.

4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to route efficiency, including delivery time, fuel costs, and vehicle utilization.

  • Generate reports and visualizations to communicate route performance insights to management.

  • Provide feedback to field sales teams on areas for improvement based on data-driven insights.

6. Compliance with Safety and Operational Standards:

  • Ensure that route plans meet all operational and safety requirements, taking into account road regulations, truck weight limits, and vehicle access constraints.

  • Collaborate with the safety team to incorporate warehouse and vehicle safety guidelines into route designs.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

- Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Information Technology, Transportation Engineering, or related field. Knowledge of Data Collection Tools and GIS software are mandatory 

- Experience: 

  • 0-1 years of experience in GIS analysis with a focus on route optimization, preferably in the beverage or FMCG industry.

- Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and route optimization tools.

  • Understanding of Route to Markets in the FMCG or beverage sector.

- Soft Skills: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
