Job Description

Moyee Coffee stands as the initial multinational coffee roasting company based in Ethiopia boasting a seamlessly integrated operation spanning the entire coffee value chain, from cultivation to consumption.

 PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The main purpose of the job is to enable departments budget, plan ahead for their own and reforecast for possible changes. The Senior Cost and Budget Accountant is the contact person in the Finance department for the Production Department and is responsible of assisting in the provision of financial information.  

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Running the business

  • Assist the Production team with planning and budgeting process (annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting). 

  • Manage daily inventory movement control of raw materials, packaging materials and work in progress (WIP):

    • Ensure accuracy of landed costs calculated by the Supply Chain Department for imported production inputs.  

    • Ensure correctness of costs captured in the ERP system (Inventory module and integration to the General ledger). 

    • Ensure correctness and timely recording of stock receipts and issues of production inputs.  

    • Manage monthly count of production inputs and prepare monthly variance reports. 

  • Prepare monthly inventory valuation. 

  • Prepare monthly production cost: 

    • Comparison of actual consumption against accounts records

    • Direct and indirect materials cost analysis

  • Capex management: 

    • Assist in the planning of Capex projects 

    • Follow up on the status of Capex projects

    • Follow up and update of CAPEX tracker and circulate the format to concerned departments. This includes communicating the status with department heads on the progress of CAPEX.

    2. Financial Systems

  • Manage the proper implementation of ERP system. 

  • Manage reconciliation between the various sub ledgers (Inventory and production module) with the general ledger. 

    3. General 

  • Should always be aiming to meet set targets on daily, weekly, monthly according to set annual overall KPI’s set separately per annum. 

  • Record and maintain reports on all activities performed.

  • Submits reports to managers in a complete and timely manner.

  • Report to the Management Accounts Manager on a daily basis and to the Chief Financial Officer as required. 

  • Provide cover for other team members as and when required.  

  • Undertake any additional duties as may be given by the Finance Manager and/or the Chief Financial Officer. 

  • Provide weekly timesheet covering achievements realized. 

Job Requirements

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE

  1. Education

  • BA degree in Accounting or Business Administration from a reputable institution. 

  1. Experience

  • A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably in cost accounting or budgeting. 

KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS, ATTITUDE

Knowledge

  • Proficient in Statistical Methodologies.

  • Competent in Financial and Management Accounting.

  • Expert in Product Costing.

  • Good computer skills

  • Strong analytical thinking.

  • Good Microsoft Office and analytical skills
