Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the Social Development Unit Leader, the Social Worker is responsible to work on social, psychological and emotional development of the beneficiary or clients at OSSHD and to follow-up the overall development of the beneficiary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive case management services to GBV survivors, including safety planning, risk assessment, emotional support, and referrals to relevant services (medical, legal, psychosocial, etc.).

  • Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized case plans with GBV survivors to address their immediate and long-term needs.

  • Collaborate closely with other service providers (health, legal, protection, etc.) to ensure coordinated, multi-sectorial support for GBV survivors.

  • Advocate for the rights and needs of GBV survivors within the community and with local authorities to improve access to services and resources.

  • Facilitate support groups and psych educational sessions for GBV survivors to foster peer support and healing.

  • Provide culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed counselling and case management services, with a focus on the unique needs of displaced populations.

  • Monitor and document case progress, challenges, and outcomes to inform program improvements and reporting.

  • Participate in capacity-building trainings to enhance knowledge and skills in GBV case management, survivor-cantered approaches, and working with displaced populations.

  • Engage with community leaders, women's groups, and other stakeholders to raise awareness about GBV, available services, and referral pathways.

  • Collaborate with the project team to conduct community needs assessments, input into program design, and contribute to the development of GBV-related policies and protocols.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical principles when handling sensitive information and working with GBV survivors.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the GBV-officer to support the overall GBV response for IDPs and host communities.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

  • BA/MA in Social works, Social Anthropology or related fields with 4/2 years of relevant work experience.
