Job Description

  • Employment condition: Full-time (Permanent after probation period).

  • Location/duty station: Addis Ababa

  • Salary: - Negotiable & Attractive.

Responsible to control and verify financial transactions, reconcile account balances maintain general ledger and prepare month-end close procedures, and produce financial reports while keeping compliance with the IFRS and accounting and financial policies and procedures of the company.

Responsibilities

  • It is strongly preferred that applicants have excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills in international companies’ context.

  • Proficient in usage of Oracle, Excel, and other MS Office applications.

  • Assist the finance head in making sound financial decisions by providing up-to-date and accurate financial records upon request and relating pertinent information.

  • Responsible for month-end close and accounting activities including but not limited to amortization, depreciation, Accruals, reclass, provisions etc.

  • Assists with the quarterly and annual financial statement audits, liaising with local and International Auditors.

  • Involve in reviewing, tracking, and maintaining information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy of AP, tax, and other accounting regulations.

  • Strong trouble shooting skills, reconcile accounts, resolving discrepancies and the ability to interact and collaborating well with various Finance and non-Finance functions optimally.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

  • Perform duties and responsibilities including but not limited to the data entry, for contacting customers regarding delinquent accounts and other related duties as assigned by the Manager.

  • Supervise staff accountants and review applicable work like a timely review of bank reconciliations,

  • suppliers’ statement of accounts, intercompany transactions and journal entries to meet tight deadlines.

  • Prepare a variety of financial, management, and month-end-close reports, analyse journals, produce data analysis and reports, and assist with variance analysis.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of standardized orders, receipts, and payments while assisting the staff with travel reimbursement claims.

  • May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report expenditures,

  • intercompany, revenue and capitalization transactions in accordance with the company’s financial policies.

  • Handling Cash Flow Projections and provide other business support as required.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Experience: Proven experience 8+ years in a senior accounting or financial management role, preferably in mining or other international company experiences.
