Job Description

The Marketing & Promotion Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing strategies and promotional campaigns that drive brand awareness, member engagement, and quality member growth. This role requires a creative and analytical mindset to execute successful marketing initiatives across various channels, including digital, social media, print, and events. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWACH SACCOS trends, and member behavior, and a proven track record in delivering results-driven marketing campaigns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather and research information on relevant topics for accurate and exciting news, articles, or reports.

  •  Marketing Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the AWACH SACCOS goals and member’s needs.

  • Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and oversee AWACH SACCOS promotional campaigns, including product launches, seasonal promotions, and special events, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  •  Brand Management: Develop and maintain the brand’s image, voice, and messaging across all AWACH SACCOS marketing materials and platforms.

  • Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing efforts, including SEO, email marketing, social media campaigns, content marketing, and online advertising.

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify AWACH SACCOS trends, potential member needs, and competitive landscape, using this data to inform marketing strategies.

  •  Collaboration: Work closely with the team and other departments to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.

  • Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget, allocating resources efficiently to maximize ROI on marketing spend.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns using KPIs and metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.

  • Partnerships and Sponsorships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships and sponsorship opportunities that enhance brand visibility and reach.

  •  Event Management: Plan and oversee the execution of promotional events, trade shows, and other marketing-related activities.

  • Deadlines: Adhere to strict deadlines and deliver high-quality content consistently.

  • Utilize various media platforms (print, digital, audio, infographics, and video) to deliver AWACH SACCOS news, stories, and advertisements effectively.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus from a well-known university with CGPA >2.5

EXPERIENCE:

  •  Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated work experience in marketing and promotion, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent in English, Amharic, and Afaan Oromo languages speaking, writing, and listening, 

  •  Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices.

  •  Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management tools, email marketing software).

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  •  Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  •  Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  •  Analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions.

  • Proven experience working as a Marketing & Promotion Manager 

  • Strong knowledge of Marketing & Promotion ethics, standards, and principles.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail, with a strong command of grammar, punctuation

  • Sound understanding of financial markets, cooperatives, and related industry topics.

  • Proficient in conducting research, interviews, and fact-checking and verifying sources

  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize assignments effectively.

  • Familiarity with digital tools, content management systems, and social media platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality

  • Sound understanding of media ethics and defamation laws

  • Familiarity with digital media platforms, content management systems, and social media engagement

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with sources and colleagues
