o Neglected Tropical Diseases – elimination and control of neglected tropical diseases.
Light for the World core programme includes eye health, elimination of neglected tropical diseases, community-based Rehabilitation, inclusive education, and disability mainstreaming.

Job Position: Accounting Team Lead
Location: Addis Ababa with little travel within the project areas
Terms on Employment: One year contract with the possibility of extension
Reporting Line: Head of Finance and Operations
This role's primary purpose is to oversee all aspects of the organization’s Accounting and finance initiatives. She/He will be responsible for the overall management of the accounting unit and will closely work with the HF&O to create, implement and analyze financial budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with programmatic strategies. The Accounting Team Lead will also be responsible for setting up and maintaining adequate in-country financial reporting in accordance with regulations and complying with all standards, requirements, and regulations affecting the Country Office.
Accounting, Finance, and Budget management
Ensure excellent records related to bookkeeping expenses, funds, partners finances that are accurate, up-to-date, sufficiently detailed, and well-prepared
Supervises and supports subordinates in classifying expenses into appropriate accounts entering into accounting software and maintaining updated and accurate accounting records
Make sure that the necessary forms and procedures for financial administration are in place, and lawfully prepared, and carefully maintained.
Prepare monthly accounting reports and reports to respective designates in the country office and Head Quarter in a precise and timely manner
Manage the payroll function ensuring efficient systems, processes, and controls.
Monitors payment of salaries and ensures all deductions are accurate, paid, and reconciled
Manage the financial system, ensuring maximum productivity and that it meets the needs of the business today and in the future.
Oversee the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes and assist partners to achieve best practices and optimal output.
Develop and oversee accounting policies and procedures for the country office to meet both current and future needs.
Prepare the financial section of the annual report of the country office.
Oversee the cash management function, including banking relationships and petty cash management.
Develop and oversee the internal review function to ensure that finance and operations controls and policies are complied with in the country office and field offices.
Ensure financial management reporting tools and processes are in place to support the ongoing and future needs of the country office
Manage ongoing banking relationships for maximum efficiency.
Develop cash flow forecasting and maintain optimal cash forecast.
Ensure the team delivers the highest standard of departmental, cross-departmental collaboration
Responsible for financial management and reporting needs of the country office.
Present semi-annual and Quarter financial reviews with accompanying analysis of results for the country office
Ensure accounting events are recorded and classified on a timely basis and consistent with LFTW chart of accounts
Reviews and approves all financial reporting documents required in a precise and timely manner
Participate in the annual financial plan development and budgeting process of the country office.
Policy Compliance with external stakeholders and internal procedures
Ensure all relevant government laws and regulations on taxation, payroll, income tax, withholding tax, etc.
Implement relevant accounting standards and audit standards
Establish and review adequate internal control procedure
Support all financial information for audit, connect to auditors, and supervise annual audit
BA Degree/Master’s Degree in accounting, Accounting and Finance or a related field of study. With at least 8/6 years of relevant experience respectively in an INGO settings
Project financial cycle management skills.
Excellent financial and analytical skill
