Job Description

As a Business Analyst (Budget), you will play a crucial role in driving the financial success of the company by meticulously managing and analyzing the budget and cost activities. Your expertise will be instrumental in collaborating with diverse departments to ensure accurate financial planning, cost optimization, and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive budget preparation framework that encompasses all aspects of the company's operations, including revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures. Continuously refine this framework to enhance accuracy and relevance.

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to gather financial data from various departments. Establish effective communication channels to ensure seamless data collection and collaboration.

  • Prepare detailed annual budgets and periodic forecasts, taking into account market trends, business strategies, and historical performance. Use advanced forecasting techniques to provide realistic and achievable projections.

  • Monitor budget performance on an ongoing basis, comparing actual results to budgeted figures. Provide regular reports on variances, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.

  • Conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses to evaluate investment decisions and project proposals. Consider both short-term and long-term financial implications to ensure optimal resource allocation.

  • Identify key cost drivers and trends through detailed cost analysis. Use this information to support cost reduction initiatives and drive efficiency improvements across the organization.

  • Collaborate closely with departments to develop and implement effective cost control measures. Provide guidance and training on budget management and cost optimization techniques.

  • Analyze cost data to assess the profitability of products or services. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance product/service mix and maximize profitability.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to budget and cost. Ensure that these reports are accurate, transparent, and compliant with accounting standards.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to financial planning and analysis. Contribute your expertise to drive strategic decision-making and business growth.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in budget management and financial analysis. Incorporate new ideas and techniques to improve the budgeting process.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including department heads, finance teams, and senior management. Act as a trusted advisor on budget and cost matters.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and above in finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in budget preparation and cost analysis, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques. Familiarity with cost accounting and management accounting concepts is a plus.

  • Experience working with large datasets and using financial software tools for data analysis and reporting.
