Job Description

The Transport Planner plays a key role in operational planning and execution management. This position is responsible for leading, supervising, and monitoring the creation of daily shipment plans, ensuring optimal costservice trade-offs. The role involves coordinating transportation requirements from various stakeholders, efficiently allocating the necessary trucks, and ensuring on-time, in-full delivery. Additionally, the Transport Planner provides regular hourly updates to maintain transparency and operational efficiency. The role also ensures high customer satisfaction by consistently achieving on-time, in-full delivery of products and securing supply through seamless collection of purchased raw material

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop transportation plans for the company, considering factors like distance, time, and cost.

  • Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to understand unique transportation needs

  • Develop a weekly transportation plan for all transport requests and Daily share allocation and delivery status.

  • Align the daily transport plan with changing circumstances, such as peak demands and stock availability.

  • Manage activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to meet established deadlines.

  • Plan and supervise inbound and outbound transportation requirements.

  • Create detailed transportation plans under time limitations, meeting customer requirements at the lowest cost

  • Ensure 100% implementation of overall transportation planning.

  • Analyze traffic patterns and identify roadway issues

  • Create route maps and schedules for optimal delivery.

  • Collaborate with the security team to update road security conditions & Communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Regularly update information related to road conditions.

  • Identify alternative roads &Conduct cost-benefit analyses.

  • Regularly update the status of each order and communicate it on the designated communication platform.

  • Proactively share order status updates with relevant stakeholders.

  • Quickly address any abnormalities or issues and notify the appropriate stakeholder

  • Provide Clear Justification or all missing allocations.

  • Conduct comprehensive cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvement

  • Implement innovative strategies such as route optimization, carrier consolidation, and modal shift to minimize transportation expenses while maintaining service levels.

  • Collaborate with transporters, distributors, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless loading and unloading operations.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain.

  • Oversee daily transportation operations and coordinate weekly scheduling and route planning.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with a track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment

  • Possess excellent capabilities in data analysis and interpretation. Additionally, familiar with tools that facilitate data analytics

  • Proven experience in transportation coordination or logistics management.

  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
