Purpose of the Job:

To enhance production of optimal quantity and quality cement with least cost by supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in cement grinding and dispatch operations.

 Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all workplace safety requirements are in place before starting operation.

• Lead and direct people, equipment and resources in the cement grinding operation. 

• Ensure sufficient deployment and productivity of work staffs.

• Organize and coordinate the daily activities of all staffs and utilize corrective action to keep the operation on time. 

• Control supply to determine potential quality control issues, and apply necessary corrections. 

• Monitor cement grinding operation plant reliability, safety and environmental requirements. 

• Monitor the company equipment is lawfully operated, cared for, maintained and used effectively. 

• Read and interpret plans and specifications. 

• Adapt and apply operational guidelines to specific situations.

• Provide guidance to staff in adjusting, repairing and maintaining machines and equipment which fail to meet standards.

• Monitor machinery and work area cleanliness during operation.

• Review procedures and investigate operating incidents and abnormalities.

Generic duties of the position: 

• Assist immediate manager in preparation and implementation of work plans, budgets and schedules.

• Prepare, communicate and implement weekly and daily work schedules for his or her unit.

• Coordinate and supervise daily operations and service delivery within his or her unit.

• Coach, train, educate and mentor subordinates and support them in handling complex issues in their assigned duties.

• Evaluate and report the periodic performance of subordinates and provide them regular feedback and support to improve their performance.

• Provide support to immediate manager in all matters related to the management and supervision of subordinates, operations and resources within his or her unit. 

• Ensure safety, accident & housekeeping preventions implemented well in the workplace.

• Ensure the implementation of all government (Federal and Legal) regulations and requirements. 

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical Engineering or related fields with four (4) years of demonstrated experience.

• Diploma in General Mechanics or Level IV in GMFA or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience.
