Position: Junior Occupational therapist

Salary: 12548

Medical allowance per year: 15,000 

Transportation allowance per month: 500

Required number: 1

Duty station: Addis Ababa

Work Unit: Addis Paediatric Rehabilitation Center 

Immediate Supervisor :Center Manager

Under the general supervision of the manager the junior occupational Therapist is responsible for treatment and assessment of children with disabilities (CWDs); reassessment of CWDs of assistant rehabilitation workers on quarterly base; advice parents and caregivers to carry out occupational therapy at home; write prescription for assistive devices and medical referral in collaboration with Multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Trains assistant rehabilitation workers in acquiring basic skills and knowledge in occupational therapy. Updates and uploades data of CWDsin the data system.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gives treatment for regular and follow-up CWDs daily.

  • Develops assessment and treatment plan for new CWDs per week.

  • Reassess CWDs of assistant  therapist on quarterly base for feedback.

  • Gives  assistive devices and medical referral of CWDs in cooperation with MDT.

  • Writes  discharge form and medical certificate for CWDs who have completed treatment in collaboration with MDT.

  • Writes monthly report; action plan of next month and case stories of CWDs who have successfully completed.

  • Up dates  data system on daily basis as well uploading clients’ documents.

  • Provides training for assistant therapist on basic occupational therapy skills and knowledge.

  •  hand over his/her clients’ cards to assistant therapist when ever off duty

  • Respects Cheshire Ethiopia’ rules and regulation and also observe professional ethics.

  •  Performs any duty assigned to him/her by  the  supervisor.
