Job Description

Development Expertise Center DEC is a local CSO established in 2007 and re-registered in May 2019 as per the new Authority for CSO Proclamation by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number of 0009. The organization has five major programs; Child Well-being and Education Development Program, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development Program, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Program. DEC actively works in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.  DEC would like to recruit for the following position.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Design and organize training for youth and women groups give cascaded training on employability and entrepreneurship skills.

  • Organize and facilitate youth and women mobilization, registration, and awareness creation events on the importance and role of youth and women.

  • Develop and implement capacity-strengthening plans. Develop tools, checklists, and guides to facilitate assessment and knowledge transfer.

  • Support target groups, identify skill gaps in the youth and women coalition, and coach them. Strengthen public-private partnerships.

  • Provide capacity-building training to the group leaders and members on different themes, and cascade different ToT trainings. Support and contribute significantly to the ongoing development of employability skills development and support

  •  Support planning, organization, and implementation of events including workshops, awareness-raising campaigns, and experience-sharing opportunities for youth economic empowerment

  • Take a coordinating lead concerning employability skills enhancement across the project.

  • Contribute to the development and timely submission of written reports,

Job Requirements

Education and work experience

  • BA Degree in Psychology, Sociology/ Social Work, or any business field 3 years and above in a similar or related position.
