Job Description

We are seeking an Accounts and Finance Manager on behalf of our client, responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the overall financial activities of the organization. This role includes ensuring the proper utilization of resources, effective costing, regular reporting, and building strong relationships across work units while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of the business strategic plan.

  • Formulate financial targets and budgets in alignment with business and sales strategies.

  • Manage the organization’s cash flow, stock, and ensure availability of funds for daily operations.

  • Coordinate all accounting activities and handle correspondence regarding accounts.

  • Ensure timely collection of credit sales as per agreements.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards in financial reporting.

  • Manage day-to-day dealings with banks and maintain the company’s cash position efficiently.

  • Prepare and implement periodic plans (annual, quarterly, monthly) and report on them.

  • Authorize payments and sign cheques within the limit of authority.

  • Advise management on sourcing long-term financing.

  • Structure, train, and motivate the finance team to meet business needs.

  • Communicate approved policies and procedures to work groups, recommend changes as necessary, and ensure compliance.

  • Direct budget centers in preparing their budgets; compile and present the overall company budget for approval.

  • Prepare the consolidated annual financial report (balance sheet and profit and loss account) within stipulated time limits.

  • Ensure effective utilization and maintenance of the organization’s physical assets.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • BA Degree in Accounting; an MA degree in a relevant field is preferable.

  • At least 10 years of experience in a reputable organization, including 4 years in a similar position (experience in the trading sector is advantageous).

  • Familiarity with IFRS and ERP systems is preferred.

  • At least 2 years of experience with an audit firm or in auditing is a plus.
