Quantity surveyors have under their helm complete management of the cost involved in building and construction projects from the inception of the project until the delivery. They strive for an efficient use of the resources whilst keeping an eye on quality, quality standards, and client's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial plans for water supply projects.

• Monitor overall project expenses and ensure that costs are controlled and remain within budget.

• Manage tender processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating contractor bids with sub-contractors and other stake holders.

• Conduct regular valuations and certify payments for work completed on-site.

• Collaborate with project teams to provide advice on cost-saving strategies, materials, and construction methods.

• Administer contracts, manage claims, variations, and disputes, ensuring fair resolution in line with contractual obligations.

• Perform risk assessments and develop cost-effective solutions to potential financial challenges.

• Prepare progress reports, cost forecasts, and final accounts upon project completion.

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and project specifications.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with specific experience in water supply projects.

• Proven experience working on large-scale water supply construction projects.

• Proficient in MS Excel and other related software used for cost estimation and project management.

• Good command of English, both spoken and written.
