Job Description
Under the supervision of MEAL department, the MEAL intern will collect monthly, and weekly updates from field offices and sector units in the country office and support. Under the supervision of the MEAL Officer and MEAL Manager, MEAL intern supports data collection, consolidation, and reporting to ensure data from communities and facilities are collected and compiled regularly; implements and monitors community complaints and feedback mechanisms. The MEAL intern primarily focuses on verifying the weekly data entered in DHIS 2 and the monthly monitoring data in the Performance Monitoring Tool, responsible for assessing data quality, entering and monitoring the Health and Nutrition cluster report, recording and tracking feedback, and ensuring that the feedback loop is completed, keeping clients informed about the decisions made.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain files and folders related to the activities of the MEAL Unit.
Assist the MEAL Officer with the development and compiling of government, H & N cluster and donor reports, including weekly and monthly report.
Participate on project opening, review and closing meetings and capture meeting notes/action points, and follow up on action points with relevant departments, on a need’s basis.
Compile and respond to information requests from field offices and country offices different departments.
Working with the program and MEAL staffs to collect and prepare lessons learned.
Support document signings, troubleshooting department queries, and supporting other tasks as required.
Support program field staff in the collection of activity- and output-level monitoring data during activity implementation.
Collect data and routinely monitor project implementation and data quality verification.
Assist the MEAL Officer to ensure the databases are accurate representations of program performance across program activities.
Compile and share weekly updates monthly tabular and narrative updates on MEAL Progress.
Support the documentation and filling activities under MEAL.
Support the visualization of performance data and reports using DHIS2.
Conduct regular data validation exercises to identify and address any data inconsistencies or errors. This involves cross-checking data against source documents, conducting data quality assessments, and resolving discrepancies.
Responsible for data entry and cleaning processes. Whom need to ensure that data is accurately entered into the DHIS 2 system, perform regular checks for data completeness and accuracy, and clean the data by identifying and rectifying any errors or missing information.
Any other related tasks as agreed and discussed with the all-program Manager and MEAL Department/unit.
This position requires travel to project sites located in remote areas with very basic living conditions.

Job Requirements
Education, licenses, & certification:
Degree in public health, Inclusive education, Development, Statics, or any relevant field and 0 (Zero) years’ experience
Minimum GPA of 3.5 and above
Highly Motivated, able and willing to learn new tasks/skills quickly
Ability to work in fast and demanding environment
only zero years of work experience required.
Graduate of 2015 and 2016 E.C
Organizational skill and ability to prioritize and multi-tasking
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good command of MS Package (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
Knowledge of spoken & written Amharic, English
Experience:
Fresh graduate
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English, fluent in host country language as appropriate.
Basic knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with project design.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software.
Ability to problem solve and recommend corrective action as needed.
Strong organizational and attention to detail needed to adhere to project deadlines.
Effective communications in information shared by ensuring attention is paid to the specific components (i.e., formatting) of the communication, successful delivery, and accountability for specific components (i.e., keeping timelines updated).
