Job Description
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their lives. The IRC works with people made to flee from war, conflict and disaster and the host communities which support them, as well as those who remain within their homes and communities. We began work in Ethiopia since 2000 and currently implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery, and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response.

Summary statement of responsibilities:
The position holder is responsible for supporting the GBV case management activities in Ura refugee settlement, likewise documentation related activities at the Assosa sub-office level.
Assist the team in the assessment of the living conditions of women and girls in the Ura refugee settlement and participate in the development of an appropriate strategy in addressing their needs.
Facilitate the involvement of women and girls in women and girls’ wellness center and document the progress made.
Follow-up the preparation and implementation of case action plan and conduct home to home visit including outreach programs.
Carry out data Entry into the GBVIMS database.
Support the WPE Response officer in facilitating and coordinating appropriate GBV case management services.
Work closely with the WPE Response and Prevention Officer in the celebration of international events days and other awareness-raising sessions.
Adhere and fully abide by the GBV code of conduct.
Support the documentation activities at the Assosa sub-office level including follow-up of the procurement processes of WPE materials.
Shall take any additional responsibilities as requested by supervisors.
Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to establish team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion in IRC [team/office]
Develop ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies.
Key Working Relationships:
The position holder will directly report to the WPE Senior Officer and WPE Response Officer based in Tsore-Ura, with additional oversight from the WPE manager based in Assosa.
Educational Background
University fresh graduate in social science or other related fields.
2 years of relevant work experience for diploma holders in social science and other related fields
Minimum skills and qualifications
Language skill of English, and Amharic.
Self-motivated, open, responsible, punctual, ability to work under pressure and in a team with low supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Good team spirit, demeanor, behavior, and problem-solving abilities.
Basic computer skill
Good report writing skill.
Preferred Skill and Qualification
Good command spoken and written in English and Amharic. Knowledge of other local languages is an asset.
Preference will be given to qualified women candidates.
Familiarity with the local context of the project implementation areas.
