Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate import & export including sea fright booking, land transportation and dealing with the relevant documents and authorities;

• Be responsible for documents related to import and export and any related tasks;

•  Coordinate with internal and external parties in order to ensure the completeness of the document submission process;

•  Coordinate with shipping/cargo functions;

•  Manage to deliver the tasks related to P/O, Invoice, Packing lists and other related tasks

•  Create import/export documentation;

•  Process and ensure accuracy of customs documentation;

•  Assist freight forwarders and customs brokers with import and export issues associated with all shipments;

• Assist in handling and resolving freight claims;

•  Review thoroughly and print all import documentation to ensure full Import;

•  Compliance, per Ethiopian Customs rules and regulations, inclusive of recordkeeping;

•  Maintain electronic records including daily import activity log;

•  Import and Export Freight Costs Data, Import/Export tracking for Ethiopian Customs and the Company’s Finance Division, where needed;

•  Attend off site trade conferences and webinars for training and fulfillment of essential functions and key responsibilities;

•  Assist in process of Drawback claims as needed;

•  Work outside of normal hours of operation, as needed, in order to fulfill essential functions and responsibilities;

•  Maintain all files and paperwork relating to import/export matters;

•  Track, trace and report shipments to ensure timely delivery to the Company’s warehouse;

•  Review for accuracy and Process freight invoices and broker bills;

•   All other duties as required or needed.

Brief Description: The Senior Import Export officer is directly reporting to the Tour Trading and Commissioning Director of the company. He/she is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling the Import Export functions. The Senior import and export Officer take care of the import/export process, as well as ensures compliance with international government laws as well as guidelines. Speeds up the flow of website traffic to/from foreign destinations, consisting of personalized documents and also transportation.

Job Requirements

• Minimum  BA degree in International Business or Business Management or Management or Economics or Marketing Management or other related fields

• Minimum of 4 years of experience related to the field narrated above and dealing with forwarder or oversea shipping agent; 

• Very Good knowledge of import and export business procedures.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skill is mandatory.
