An exciting vacant position has arisen at East Africa Bottling Share Company for the role of Maintenance Controller- Utility. The position is structured to report to the respective Unit Manager and is responsible for leading, coordinating, coaching, and managing the Utility Teams and ensuring the Maintenance Plans, as established by the Maintenance Planners, are implemented effectively and efficiently to ensure maximum equipment availability.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Partaken in the development of the asset care plan for the utility and process Plant, contributing suggestions and providing expert advice.

• Support the implementation of the asset care plan for the utility and process, ensuring the Utility Specialists, PA’s and operational teams have the required technical competencies to execute the plan.

• Ensure that continuous improvement is built into the Utility Specialist’s team goals, and forms part of regular goal review sessions.

• Lead the utility team in the provision of asset care and engineering support to the shift-based Utility and process teams.

• Lead the Utility Specialist’s team in a manner that engenders ownership, empowerment, and team interaction.

• Ensure adherence to the appropriate CCBA and legislative policies (such as OSH act) on safety and housekeeping.

• Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure multi-skilling occurs within the Utility (This includes evaluation of workmanship of teams)

Job Requirement

Skills, Experience & Education

• First Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or related field of studies with a minimum of 3 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment.
