An exciting opportunity to head up the NRC’s Education Project Manager
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and dynamic Education Project Manager.
The Education Program Manager is responsible for the identification of the education needs at AO, the development of proposals, and the implementation of short-term and transitional non-formal education like catch-up classes, bridging courses, and provision of Accelerated Education & formal Education for out-of-school children and their transition into the formal one. This will be in line with the NRC Global, AO, and NRC Ethiopia education strategic priorities for formal and non-formal education
Line management for project staff
Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures
Contribute to the development of Country, Area, and Education Programme strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant Education Programme projects
Coordinate and manage education project implementation (activities, budget, and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements
Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
Provide regular progress reports to the Area Program Manager and the Education Specialist
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with Core Competencies (CC)s) and coordinate across CCs
Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior-level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant field
Experience in education programming
Experience with accelerated learning/catch-up programs, EiE, your education, and others on Education sectors implemented at Refugee, IDPs, Returnees, and Vulnerable host communities.
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
What we offer
Duty station: Assosa, Ethiopia.
Contract: 1 month in 2024 and 6 months in 2025 with possible extension
Travel: 50 % (Field office and Area office implementation areas)
Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s Ethiopia national salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
