Job Description
The Embroidery Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the production and quality of embroidery work within a business or manufacturing setting. Their role involves managing the embroidery team, ensuring that designs meet quality standards, coordinating with designers or clients for specific requirements, and optimizing workflows for efficiency.
Embroidery Operations Management:
Supervise the setup and operation of embroidery machines to produce designs according to specifications.
Review design files, threads, and fabrics to ensure correct setup and quality of embroidered patterns.
Team Management:
Lead, train, and supervise the embroidery team, ensuring they are skilled in embroidery techniques and machine operation.
Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to maintain productivity and quality.
Quality Control:
Implement quality checks at each stage of the embroidery process to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
Inspect completed items for quality, addressing any issues and making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Oversee the maintenance of embroidery machines, coordinating with maintenance staff for repairs as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve any machine-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
Resource and Inventory Management:
Manage inventory of threads, needles, stabilizers, and other materials used in embroidery.
Work closely with the procurement team to ensure adequate stock levels and timely supply of materials.
Collaboration with Design and Production Teams:
Coordinate with design teams to understand design requirements, providing feedback on potential embroidery issues.
Work with production teams to schedule embroidery projects, ensuring timely completion in line with production timelines.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure the embroidery department complies with safety and health regulations, providing a safe working environment for all team members.
Ensure proper handling of equipment and materials, enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
Process Improvement:
Continuously review and improve embroidery processes to increase efficiency, enhance quality, and reduce waste.
Stay updated on the latest embroidery technologies and techniques, implementing advancements as appropriate.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of embroidery projects, including production quantities, timelines, and any issues encountered.
Prepare regular reports on department performance, including productivity, quality metrics, and inventory usage.
Education: Degree or certification in Textile Design, Fashion Technology, or related field is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of [6-10) years of experience in embroidery production, with at least [3-4] years in a supervisory or management role.
Skills: Proficient in various embroidery techniques, machine operation, and maintenance
