The Role

Oxfam is looking for a Logistics Assistant responsible for ensuring quality in supply chain management support across the Ethiopia program. Where appropriate, the logistics Assistant will provide support to field teams through assessment and accompaniment.

Job Requirement

Essential

  • Bachelor (BA) or Degree from a recognized university/college in Supply and Logistics Management or any other areas that can bring added value to the post.

  • Relevant Supply and logistics management experience of 3 years, in I/NGO.

  • Ability to adjust to constantly changing situations while maintaining focus on delivery and follow-through supply and logistics requirements.

  • Able to work with little supervision, be innovative, and use initiative to a good degree.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity to cultural differences, and ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.

  • Experience and training in supply and logistics management system software.

  • Technical skills in fleet management software/systems like TrackPoint and GPS.

  • Data management and reporting skills

  • Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications including word processing (Word) and Excel.

  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Oxfam

  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and action

  • Commitment to Oxfam’s equal opportunity and gender policies. Demonstrated experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into logistics programs

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the field of international development and human rights

  • Is from zonal areas and knows local markets and contexts
