Job Description
The Role holder is responsible to Coordinate between the company and the other entities to streamline operations, resolve right of way issues, improve communications, and generally ensure that the relationship is as beneficial as possible.
A key element of this work will be coordinate and developing company operations, plans including meeting the requirement of external stake holders
Permissions and License Management:
Oversee the process of acquiring and maintaining all necessary permissions and licenses for construction projects.
Ensure timely renewals and compliance with relevant licensing requirements.
Liaison Coordination:
Manage and coordinate the activities of liaison officers who serve as intermediaries between the organization and government bodies, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Establish clear communication channels to ensure information flow between liaison officers and the company is efficient and effective.
Right-of-Way (ROW) Oversight:
Oversee the assessment and acquisition of rights-of-way for projects, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Address any disputes or challenges related to right-of-way issues, coordinating with legal and engineering teams as needed.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all company operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning, environmental, safety, and building standards.
Keep up-to-date with legislative changes and communicate relevant updates to project managers and senior leadership.
Policy Enforcement:
Develop, implement, and enforce internal policies that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct training sessions for staff on regulatory policies and procedures to foster compliance across all departments.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive records of permissions, licenses, right-of-way agreements, regulatory audits, and inspections.
Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management and regulatory authorities, outlining any issues and recommended solutions.
Issue Resolution:
Address and resolve any compliance-related issues promptly and effectively, minimizing project delays or legal challenges.
Act as the primary point of contact for handling inspections and audits from regulatory agencies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
Participate in meetings, public hearings, and negotiations with external stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
BSC in Engineering related field performing similar role, or BA Degree in Sociology, social work and other related field.
5 years or more work experience in the field: as Permits and Authority Specialist/engineer or related position holder preferably from a real estate, property management, or construction company
Familiar with Right of way, relocation process with concerned government body
Ability to lead complex operations with multiples stake holders
Good understanding of infrastructure project cycles
Ability to recommend practical solutions based on strategic thinking, innovation, creativity and sound judgment
Must be knowledgeable in the permitting process especially with regards to the coordination with the government units
Preferably with established networks in the different government units.
