JOB SUMMARY
The roving senior GBV Officer is a key team member of International Medical Corps and will oversee the overall day to day of GBV prevention and response services across the refugee camps. He/she will oversee interventions including case management/psychosocial support, GBV prevention activities, community engagement, capacity building and coordination with other sectors in refugee camps under the direct supervision of the GBV program manager. The Roving Senior GBV Officer will supervise GBV response officer and GBV response assistants. S/He will provide ongoing supervision, mentoring/coaching for team members to ensure that the goals and objectives of the program are met in a timely and effective manner, that the approach to program implementation is participatory, that team members receive appropriate support and that a positive team spirit is fostered encouraging innovative and quality programming.

Primary Responsibilities
• Coordinate and monitor the overall implementation of GBV prevention, response and risk mitigation activities in the refugee camps based on established indicators, including collecting, and analyzing data and information for reporting.
• Supervise and support the day-to-day activities including case management/psychosocial support, follow-up, and advocacy to meet beneficiaries needs, community mobilization to prevent GBV risks, build community capacity to prevent and respond to GBV incidents.
• Provide on-going and regular direct supervision to GBV staff (GBV response officers and assistant GBV response) including assisting in the development of individual work plans.
• Develop and monitor program plans, including activity, procurement, and spending plan of GBV prevention and response activities.
• Ensure safe and ethical GBV data collection and sharing based on agreed procedures and protocols.
• Conduct regular meetings with team members and community members to assess progress toward objectives, discuss issues and assist in finding solutions to challenges identified.
• Maintain records of activities and produce regular reports including weekly and monthly updates or Situational Reports (SitReP), success stories and lessons learnt.
• Ensure timely submission of activity reports on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and ensure proper filing.
• Participate in monthly camp-based coordination meeting and represent the organization.
• Maintain good relations with community leaders and partners in the camp.
• Contribute to a positive IMC team environment.
Human Resource Management & Capacity Building
• Assist in the recruitment and training of GBV staff, refugee workers, volunteers and SASA! Community Activists.
• With support from IMC HR, conduct staff performance evaluations for all GBV staff.
• Work with HR to ensure accuracy of all GBV program job descriptions for staffs and their responsibilities.
• In collaboration with GBV program manager, design, and monitor capacity building strategies for all GBV staff across the refugee camps.
• Ensure staff support and debriefing processes are in place, and that staff safety planning is conducted and regularly updated.
• Develop, implement, and promote effective team communication techniques and systems, including regular senior staff meetings
Coordination & Collaboration
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders including Refugees and Returnees Services (RRS), UNHCR, District Women’s and Social affairs office, other partners and stakeholders in the camp and host communities.
• Mobilize stakeholders to participate in GBV coordination and risks mitigation meetings.
• Collaborate with other IMC sectors and operations personnel to ensure that the program is properly supported and that all project-related operational activities are conducted according to IMC HR, Logistics, Finance, and other policies and procedures.
• In collaboration with the team, promote and represent the interests of the GBV program with regards to all relevant stakeholders;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Typically, bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, gender studies, Public Health or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Typically, Minimum 4 years of experience
• Background in GBV, Human Rights and/or Protection.
• Experience working in GBV programming in humanitarian context.
• Familiar with SASA! Community mobilization approach and other behavioral change strategies, GBV guidelines, and standards.
• Experience in supervisory role and provision of training for stakeholders.
• Previous experience living in a hardship environment.
• Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English is required; Knowledge of local language is strongly preferred.
