Enumerator /Data collectors are involved reaching out to individuals and communities to collect accurate information that reflects the current demographics, opinions, or needs for beneficiary targeting and registration activity.
Enumerators listen and respond to the people we serve, make sure their concerns are resolved, and ultimately build trust between beneficiary and NRC. Enumerators allow NRC to have reliable access to communities’ opinions and concerns, to create rapport with them and to prove we are accountable to the communities we assist.
Enumerator should:
Collect demographic, economic, and housing data through face-to-face interviews.
Start all interactions by explaining data privacy and data rights (see the privacy notice and the consent script in the intake form).
Data collectors will visit randomly select households in the assigned kebele and collect relevant data from the head of the household using digital technology.
Utilize digital tools and devices, such as tablets and smartphones, to record and submit collected data securely and efficiently.
Each data collector team will go through all questionnaires and fill in respondents’ words.
Data collectors will liaise with woreda and Kebele officials.
Data collectors must obtain informed consent from the selected respondents for the household head/representatives.
Interview the head of households/ family members and accurately record their responses.C
Professional competencies
Generic professional competencies for this position:
Grade 12th,Diploma/BA in Social Science and related field of study.
Previous experience from working in a similar position.
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Experience and familiarity with collecting data through tablet/ smart phone.
Knowledge about own skills/profile, and using smart phone application
Fluently speak Somali language and knowledge of English
Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):
Experience of working with similar jobs in NGO, INGOs.
Goal oriented with ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
