PSI Ethiopia is seeking a dynamic Knowledge Management Advisor to ensure proper documentation of program success, collaboration, learning and adaptation, proper dissemination of program learning. The role will involve working with program and operation staff, incorporating project metrics, and designing dissemination and documentation to track project success.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Knowledge Management and Learning (KML) Advisor will provide strategic guidance, vision, and management for successful learning documentation of the SRH, WASH and MULU programs, and others. This individual also ensures the strategic and functional integration of all Learning activities as well as active collaboration with donors. The KML Advisor will work under the oversight of the research and KM lead to provide high-quality knowledge management and CLA technical assistance in support of the Activity. The specific duties to be carried out by the successful candidate are listed below:

  • Lead learning, knowledge management, and adaptive programming activities for PSI/E project activities.

  • Together with the MEL, research and MIS team, develop and implement the comprehensive KM plan that also outlines key learning questions and roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.

  • Ensure LME evidence and knowledge are used for management decision-making and continuous performance improvement and or adaptive programming.

  • Develop a strategy for learning and knowledge management in alignment with PSI/E project implementation approach.

  • Ensure that a learning culture is fostered within the organization and that learning is an integral part of routine programming and staff engagement/development.

  • Coordinate, collaborate, and oversee best practice consolidation with all the project results, ensure that the knowledgebase is configured appropriately for optimum accessibility and widely used in adaptive programming.

  • Produce case studies, best practices; success stories, and lessons learned for internal and external use in line with the Strategic Information plan of the organization.

  • Assist in identifying and responding to key learning issues, coordinate efforts among PSI implementing partners, and facilitate dialogue and learning around emerging issues during Activity implementation.

  • Support strategic communications in line with PSI and Donor requirements including producing strategic information products (technical reports, best practices, case studies, success stories, publications, etc.)

  • Facilitate public events and workshops together with communication team among implementing partners and other stakeholders to facilitate information and experience sharing and help develop plans for program adaptation; establish a community of practice or network of key stakeholders and convene periodic learning events.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Job Requirements

Your Background:

  • master’s degree of six years in social science or development studies, knowledge management, or any field related to organizational and program learning in development assistance focusing on public health, health systems, RMNCH, HIV/NCD and WASH

  • BA degree of eight years in social science or development studies, knowledge management, or any field related to organizational and program learning in development assistance focusing on public health, health systems, RMNCH, HIV/NCD and WASH

  • A minimum of six years of demonstrated experience in strategic information or monitoring and evaluation; evidence generation, learning, and adaptation; and knowledge management.

  • Demonstrated experience or familiarity with USAID’s and other donor collaboration, learning, and adapting (CLA) approach, including using LME activities and adaptive management approaches to inform and improve project implementation.

  • Demonstrable experience in the publication of strategic information products including original articles, field action reports, case studies, best practices, –etc

    ESSENTIAL SOFT SKILLS

  • Quality Committed to PSI core organizational values and understanding of the Ethiopian health systems, national priorities.

  • Demonstrable teamwork and understanding while able to act responsibly, proactively, and independently.

  • Experience in collaborating with the MOH, RHB, ZHD, and Woreda Health Office to implement strategies to improve data use.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Fluency in Amharic and English while the ability to speak the local languages of areas supported by PSI projects would be an added value.
