The Organizational Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the organization's ability to achieve its objectives. This role involves developing risk management strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that the organization complies with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of risk management principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential risks in various areas of the organization, including financial, operational, legal, and reputational risks. 

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and action plans to mitigate identified risks, ensuring that they are aligned with the organization's goals.  Create, review, and update risk management policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and compliant with AWACH SACCOS standards and regulations. 

  • Continuously monitor and review risk factors, providing regular updates to senior management on the status of risks and the effectiveness of mitigation strategies. 

  • Lead the response to any incidents or crises that may pose a risk to the organization, including coordinating with relevant departments and external stakeholders. 

  • Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, particularly those related to risk management and corporate governance. 

  • Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness of risk management practices across the organization, ensuring that all employees understand their role in managing risk.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a well-known University with a CGPA >2.5. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CRM, CFA, or FRM) is preferred

  •  Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in risk management, compliance, related field, at least two years of them at the Manager level with a strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies

  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  •  Strong knowledge of risk management principles and regulatory requirements.

  •  Proficiency in risk management software and tools.

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  •  Strong leadership and project management abilities. 

  •  Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
