Job Description
The Social Worker/Program Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, coordinating and ensuring the smooth implementation of the FSCE program in the assigned Program Area. She/he will support project proposal development, report and success story writing, support in Monitoring and evaluations and other technical support requested by his supervisor. She/he will provide support for the efficient and effective child and youth related development interventions of the organization.
Proposal writing skills and demonstrated experiences in the same
Good conceptual understanding of participatory and result based program approach.
Effective coordination and team building skills
Report and story writing skills and excellent command of English language
Ability to provide leadership, communicate effectively, and promote a team approach, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others( community, government, teams) at all levels;
Well organized and ability to act in a professional and ethical manner;
Good skills in the use of computers with IT background;
Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to diversity and HIV/AIDS, transparent and participatory management.
Good skill in social and other related media to promote the work of the organization
Education: MA/BA in Sociology / Psychology, IT, Journalism or in other related fields
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferable in an NGO environment.
Number of staff required: One (1)
Language: Amharic and English
Terms of employment: One year contract with possibility of extension based on performance and the availability of fund.
Report to: Program manager or Director
Duty station: Addis Ababa
