Job Description

The Market Research and Strategy Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive market research and analysis to inform the company's marketing strategies and business decisions. This role involves gathering and interpreting data on market trends, customer preferences, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities. The analyst will work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop strategies that align with the company's goals, helping to drive growth and maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Market Research and Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the industry.

    • Analyze customer demographics, behaviors, and preferences to understand market demand.

    • Monitor competitors' activities, including product launches, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns.

    • Utilize various research methodologies, including surveys, focus groups, and data analysis tools, to gather and interpret relevant data.

  2. Strategy Development:

    • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and refine marketing strategies based on research findings.

    • Identify potential markets and customer segments for new products or services.

    • Provide insights and recommendations for product positioning, pricing, and promotional strategies.

    • Assist in the development of go-to-market strategies for new product launches or market expansions.

  3. Data Interpretation and Reporting:

    • Analyze and synthesize research data to provide actionable insights for the marketing team and senior management.

    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations that communicate research findings and strategic recommendations.

    • Use data visualization techniques to clearly present complex information to stakeholders.

    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to market performance, customer satisfaction, and campaign effectiveness.

  4. Competitive Intelligence:

    • Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) in relation to competitors.

    • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements that may impact the company's market position.

    • Provide ongoing updates on competitor activities and market dynamics to the marketing team.

  5. Customer Insights:

    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to understand their needs, preferences, and pain points.

    • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys and net promoter score (NPS) assessments to gauge customer loyalty and advocacy.

    • Segment the customer base and develop buyer personas to inform targeted marketing efforts.

  6. Strategic Planning Support:

    • Assist the Marketing Manager in the development of the annual marketing plan and budget.

    • Contribute to strategic planning sessions by providing research-based insights and recommendations.

    • Support the execution of strategic initiatives by tracking progress and measuring results.

  7. Trend Analysis and Forecasting:

    • Identify and analyze emerging market trends, such as changes in consumer behavior or regulatory shifts.

    • Forecast market demand for existing and new products based on historical data and market indicators.

    • Provide long-term market forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.

  8. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment of strategies.

    • Communicate research findings and strategic insights to internal stakeholders through meetings, presentations, and reports.

    • Act as a subject matter expert on market research and strategy within the organization.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in market research, business analysis, or strategic planning.

  • Proven experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research.

  • Experience with data analysis tools and market research software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Google Analytics).
