Job Title: Market Researcher

 Reports To: Manager - Marketing Strategies

 Location: Headquarter, Bole, Addis Ababa

Responsible for conducting market research, gathering consumer insights, and analyzing data to support marketing strategies and decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for business growth.

  • Stay updated on market developments and consumer preferences.

  • Gather consumer insights through surveys, focus groups, and data analysis to understand customer preferences, needs, and pain points.

  • Create customer personas and segments to guide targeted marketing efforts.

  • Collect and analyze data from various sources, including market reports, customer surveys, and internal databases.

  • Utilize statistical tools and techniques to interpret data and derive actionable conclusions.

  • Monitor and analyze competitor marketing strategies, product offerings, and pricing to provide insights for competitive advantage.

  • Prepare competitive intelligence reports for the marketing team and management.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop data-driven marketing strategies and campaigns.

  • Provide research-based recommendations for effective marketing initiatives.

  • Prepare reports and presentations on market trends, consumer behavior, and industry insights.

  • Present findings to the marketing team and stakeholders.

  • Evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns and initiatives through data analysis and KPI tracking.

  • Provide recommendations for campaign optimization and improvement.

  • Collaborate with external research partners and agencies as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Economics, Statistics or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus

  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in market research.

 Competencies and Professional skills required:

  • Proven track record of conducting market research and gathering consumer insights.

  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, SAS) and market research methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings effectively.

  • Detail-oriented and thorough in data analysis and reporting.

  • Curious and proactive, with a passion for staying updated on industry trends and consumer behavior.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work across departments.
