Job Description
The purpose of the Assistant position is to assist with day-to-day implementation of the Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) Programme in Mai-tsebri, Tselemti, Dima woredas.
Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in activities
Cooperate with relevant partners and local authorities
Implement delegated ICLA programme activities according to plan of action
Ensure proper filing of all project documents
Prepare and develop progress reports as required by management
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Demonstrate commitment to NRC’s mission, vision and value
Specific responsibilities
Provide and Facilitate information, counselling, legal assistance project activities to target communities in line with NRC policies, strategies, and work plans.
Accurately record all ICLA activities in line with NRC policy and using templates and guidance provided by NRC.
Facilitate and provide accurate information on legal and civil documentation (LCD) and housing, land, and property (HLP) rights and entitlements to target beneficiaries in accordance with agreed information scripts.
Provide accurate legal counselling on LCD and HLP topics within his/her competency and in a manner that enables ICLA counselling beneficiaries to effectively resolve their LCD and HLP issues independently.
Assist Provision LCD and HLP training using NRC approved materials and templates.
Participate in assessments, monitoring and profiling exercises as agreed with line managers.
Ensure that ICLA activities are carried out in line with appropriate NRC ICLA SOPs.
Perform any other tasks as requested by ICLA line managers.

Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills
Ability to prioritise responsibilities, carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
University degree in law, Political Science, Sociology, or any related field to this position
A minimum of 1 year work experience in similar field of work.
Knowledge of humanitarian principles and code of conduct is essential.
Knowledge of Amharic language is mandatory and good in spoken and written English
Understanding Humanitarian intervention and contested areas
Willing to spend more time at the filed level and ready to learn
